In 2025, we are celebrating 70 years of excellence and support for NC educators! We are celebrating a new era have changed our name.
Since 1955, NCASCD (North Carolina Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development) has been the learning organization trusted by thousands of educators throughout North Carolina and beyond!
Why we are changing...The parent organizations of ASCD and ISTE have now merged and will no longer have state affiliates. Because of this change, affiliates around the globe will no longer be able to use the name of the former organization.
Timeline... We were notified of the need to change in March of 2024, gathered input from our members October - December 2024, and announced our new name at our Annual Conference in Pinehurst in January 2025.
The new name... North Carolina Association for Teaching, Learning, and Leading.
Same mission and vision... Our mission to support and engage educators, provide the most innovative and effective professional development, and create a network of professional educators across the state.
TEACHING: Designing innovative, responsive professional learning opportunities with the classroom at the heart of our decisions
LEARNING: Meeting the changing needs of modern learners, teachers, and administrators
LEADING: Speaking for professional advocacy, financial support and policies in favor of all professional educators and building and sustaining networks for meaningful collaboration
What's next... For the next year, you will see both logos side by side as we continue to communicate this change to the public.
Coming soon... You will soon be directed to a new website, new social media, and a new email address for our Executive Director.
We will continue to deliver on the high-quality programs, services, and advocacy efforts you've come to expect from our organization and encourage all educators to be involved in this 70 year old organization.
